Amethyst - Songbird Healing Crystal Facts

Amethyst is a member of the Quartz family and its color can vary from pale to deep purple. This well-known crystal is found in many locations throughout the world including Brazil, Uruguay, Mexico, Africa, Canada, the USA and Europe.
Amethyst has been prized for its beauty and legendary energies of protection and purification for thousands of years. In ancient Egypt it was made into beads and amulets. In early Greek and Roman societies it was viewed as a stone of royalty and was used in crowns and scepters.  
Amethyst is a Wind element crystal and resonates with the third eye and crown chakras. It can clear your energy field of negative influences and attachment and create an energetic shield of Light to ward off negativity in your environment.  For this reason, Amethyst is an ideal crystal to place in your home, meditation room, car or office to feel surrounded and protected by a "bubble of Light".
